Mariposa Arts Park

The Mariposa Arts Park is a beautiful addition to the town which "opened for business" in 2004. Once an unused parcel of land, it is now an oasis of nature and culture and boasts meandering walkways

CREEK WALKWAY
that tie into the Mariposa Creek Walkway as well as a natural, grass covered amphitheater around a small stage. Located on Highway 140 between 4th and 5th Streets, the stage plays host to local festivals as well as local musicians. In fact, the Arts Park becomes a major attraction in the summers as local musicians put on free concerts every Friday and Saturday throughout the season. These concerts knowns as Mariposa Evenings (or Cousin Jack's Mariposa Evenings in memoriam of Cousin Jack Franklin) are open to all. Bring your chairs, flop a blanket down or just enjoy the lush, cool grass beneath you. Ample parking is available at the lot on 5th Street and the creek walkway provides handicapped access between the two areas.

Mural This beautiful mural is the latest addition to the town of Mariposa. It was added in 2008 and is mounted to the building side above the Arts Park so that it fronts Highway 140 as well as overlooks the park.
