Brightness
falls from the air;
Queens
have died young and fair;
Dust
hath closed Helen's eye.
I
am sick, I must die.
Lord,
have mercy on us!
~Thomas
Nashe
The
strength of a small town lies in the compassion and empathy of its people
for, tragedy does not just strike the unfortunate soul written about in
the newspaper - it strikes us all. So, when the news came that three
of our beautiful, vibrant teenagers died in automobile accidents we all
felt it. Although not of our blood, those were our children.
We wept, unabashedly for the promise that was lost . . . and still we continue
to weep.
